Reiki is a Japanese word, which is made up of two Kanji syllables; Rei (pronounced Ray) which means Universal or God's Wisdom and Ki (pronounced Key) which, when translated means Spiritually guided Life force energy. The meaning then of Reiki is Universal Life Force Energy. Reiki originated in Japan in the early 1900's by its founder Dr Mikao Usui.

Reiki is a healing energy, which when transferred through the Reiki channel to its recipient, has full knowledge of where it is needed; the Reiki channel is guided through intuition to direct the healing with Light and Unconditional Love. It will heal on all levels of existence, the physical, spiritual and emotional levels. It is therefore felt to be a very peaceful and spiritually enlightening experience for both the recipient and the Reiki channel.

Reiki assists the body to heal and rejuvenate itself. It is not necessary to undress for a Reiki experience. Your family pet will also benefit from a Reiki treatment.

The Reiki channel has a broad knowledge of the Chakra system, the main energy centres in the body, which are associated with organs and all systems within the body. Positive and negative factors in life have a direct effect on the chakras and consequently on the organs and the general wellbeing within the body. Reiki brings about balance within the chakras in order to complete the healing and create total harmony and inner peace.

Reiki is not a religion, nor is it associated with any religious philosophy or race, in fact Reiki practitioners from all ethnic backgrounds have used it as it compliments their spiritual practice of healing.
